r. Abel’s goal with each patient is nice and simple, and that is to provide a painless and positive dental experience that results in a strong, attractive smile. An 18-year dental veteran, Dr. Abel deeply enjoys being able to help people improve their appearance and oral health at the same time through her work, and she’s eager to get to know you and show you what’s possible for your smile. Dr. Abel comes from a dental family, with her father being a dentist and her brother being an oral surgeon. She grew up helping in her dad’s dental office, and while she always knew that she wanted to work in medicine, she actually didn’t decide to pursue dentistry until late into college. It eventually became clear that she wanted to become a dentist once she realized how much she appreciated the artistry and technical skillset that goes into the profession. Dr. Abel earned her dental degree from the University of Maryland College of Dentistry, and she then completed a one-year General Practice Residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. While there, she was able to further her experience in all specialties and was even on-call in the ER. Dr. Abel is married with two children, and when she isn’t spending time with her family, she likes to play tennis, ride her Peloton, visit the beach, and do jigsaw puzzles. She also sells kids’ clothes on the side!
